The opposite of IA is doing nothing

The real enemies of information architecture (and information architects) are entropy and inertia. Collections crumble as they are neglected far more effectively than they are destroyed. IAs are largely not in competition with each other for jobs; the only competitor that will do any of us career damage is the decision not to hire an information architect. Most companies are making that decision many times a day, every day.
